Getting Patients Started
Simple to start and simple to stay with
NovoLog® Mix 70/30 offers dosing options that fit your patients' needs, even as they change over time. Here is a guide that provides you with proper information for QD, BID, and TID dosing.
For patients with type 2 diabetes uncontrolled on OADs:
* Continue metformin
† Discontinue evening secretagogue, SU, with QD dosing and morning secretagogue, SU, with BID dosing
‡ One dose at a time (if evening glucose level is higher than morning FPG level, increase morning dose or vice versa)
Simple to convert
Converting a patient from human 70/30 or a basal insulin is simple. The dosing conversion should be unit for unit, and for a basal insulin the doses should be split between breakfast and dinner.
§ Dose conveniently within 15 minutes of meal initiation
|| Split dose evenly between breakfast and dinner
¶ One dose at a time (if evening glucose level is higher than morning FPG level, increase morning dose or vice versa)
